“The bootcamp I was originally booked on (all dorms, 5 o'clock wake-up calls, caffeine-free and fun-free) was cancelled at short notice, and, after a little time surfing I booked myself onto BaseCamp. I'm so glad I did! Whilst it was incredibly challenging – we were pushed to our limits and well beyond – we then came "home" to a spectacular mansion on the sea, and a hot cup of tea around a roaring fire while dinner was being prepared by one of the UK's best chefs! Well there's enough suffering in the world – if you're going to do bootcamp you may as well do it in style! I was small and fit anyway, but still dropped 10lbs of body fat! "I loved BaseCamp and came back home full of energy and enthusiasm. I have already started exercising with my family. I’ve been walking my daughter up a steep hill to school every morning and half walking, half running back. Yesterday, I did a 10 mile hike with my son, which we both really enjoyed on many different levels.

I have been involved in a lot of team building and training exercises over the years at work and can definitely say that the BaseCamp team are some of the very best trainers I have ever met. "Going to BaseCamp was a complete leap in the dark for me. Although I was a very athletic teenager, having spent most of the last 20 years at a computer, my fitness level had deteriorated drastically. BaseCamp has restored my physical confidence and the level of exercise we undertook demonstrated that I can do far more than I allowed myself to believe. The instructors encouraged us to do more than our minds were telling us we could, with the result that we all exceeded our expectations.

The process of setting short-, medium- and long-term goals allows you to tackle fitness and weight-loss in manageable stages, rather than being overwhelmed by the scale of the problem and giving up before even starting. I am now optimistic about achieving reasonable fitness which has not been the case for many years.

I was a bit apprehensive about signing up for the BaseCamp+1 fitness course - but I needn't have worried.  Although I would class myself as a reasonably fit person I was amazed at how much more I achieved in the week than I thought I would be able to.  Just when I didn’t think I could do anymore, I managed to find another hour’s worth of training. 

Just goes to show that exercise is both a mental and a physical thing.  Very pleased to have made such a noticeable improvement to my fitness levels.

I was apprehensive about doing the BaseCamp+1 fitness course.  I'm quite fit but I didn't know if I would manage exercising for 8 hours a day and whether the amount of food would be enough. 

The exercise was fabulous - well planned and well structured, so we worked different parts of the body, minimising aches and pains.  Any twinges were swiftly dealt with.  Also a great deal of variety so we didn't get bored of the same regime.

I really enjoyed the sprint sessions.  I didn't know that at the age of 47 I was capable of sprinting!
